The Durham County Department of Public Health is working with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and the CDC to monitor the ongoing spread of mpox in the United States.  Anyone can get mpox. Scroll through the page for information for the general public and information for healthcare providers, or click the links below to learn more.

Information for the General Public

How & where can I get vaccinated?

Jynneos mpox vaccines are available now. In accordance with NCDHHS guidance, the following people currently eligible for vaccination:

    • Anyone who has or may have multiple or anonymous sex partners; or
    • Anyone whose sex partners are eligible per the criteria above; or
    • People who know or suspect they have been exposed to mpox in the last 14 days; or
    • Anyone else who considers themselves to be at risk for mpox through sex or other intimate contact.
